‘A Day In My Scrubs’
By Angela Greene.
6.45am
The day starts early in our house with two young kids. I get up and get out for a quick walk if I can, then shower, have breakfast and get myself and the boys ready. My husband usually does the school run.
9.00am
I start in my skin clinic by having a quick look at my appointment list for the morning and get everything ready.
9.30am
I see my first client. My daily appointments vary from skin consultations, chemical peels, hydro facials, microneedling and Profhilo. When doing skin consultations I create a skin treatment plan for clients that involves suitable treatments, product advice and supplements recommendations to help get them on their way. A lot of clients I see don’t really know their own skin type or condition and are using products just because family and friends are using them, but their skin might be totally different to theirs, once they start on their own individual journey they start seeing results .
12.30pm
I do a quick school collection and drop to the childminders and grab some lunch that I usually have prepared. I am back at my skin then and see more clients until 3.30 where I finish up except for Thursdays where I work along day and see clients until 7pm
3.30 - 5.30pm
What I’m up to at this time usually involves doing school homework and getting dinner.
6.00 - 7.00pm
I like to fit in some exercise like a brisk walk or some pilates.
8.00pm
The kids are in bed! I sit down and answer queries and bookings that came in online during the day. A lot of people contact me through my Instagram with skin queries etc., so I like to try and get back to these people. Having worked in this industry for over 20 years and with a lot of prestigious global brands, I have a very good knowledge of what’s out there on the market. Skin is really my passion!
9.45pm
I go to bed, I like to journal every night and write a gratitude list also , I read for a little while something educational and listen to a podcast .
A little bit about Angela Greene
I have always had a huge passion for skincare , starting off my career in pharmacy where I got to work and train with some great brands such as Clarins.
I then attended Bronwyn Conroy Beauty School in Monkstown Co Dublin where I studied skin, waxing, tinting, makeup , massage and electrolysis. I passed all my exams with honours and merits, I absolutely loved everyday in college as I was excited to learn something new.
I continued to work in a salon environment for over 10 years and then went to work in department stores such as Brown Thomas and House of Fraser where I got to work and train with some of the biggest global names such as Lancome, Estée Lauder, Sisley, Clinque and many more. I worked as a Business Manager for some of these brands. In 2014 I got married and started my family in 2015 so I took a more part time approach to work. In 2019, I went back to college to study my Level 4 to become an Aesthetic Practitioner. I really gained so much valuable training during my time studying to get this qualification as I wanted to have as much knowledge as I possibly could about the skin. I then opened my skin clinic on a part time basis and never looked back, from opening my doors and my presence online I had so many people looking to book in with me. I couldn’t be happier in my career and I regularly attend training to keep my skills and knowledge up to date. I have the most amazing clients and look forward to them returning to my clinic regularly.
